Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We believe that the less we know about you, the better. That is why we aim to limit the information we collect to the minimum necessary. The purpose of this document is to inform you about what information we collect and how we use it.

For purposes of this document, the terms "we," "us" and "our" refer to the company Caret.io Ltd, incorporated in Bulgaria with number BG203812343 and its registered office is 111B Tsarigradsko shose, Incubator building, 1st floor, Sofia 1784, Bulgaria. The term "app" refers to the Nota software and related services. The term "website" refers to the website at nota.md and "you" refers to you, as a user of the app and the website as applicable.

Website Purchases

We use Paddle.com as a payment processing service. When you make a purchase on nota.md, you provide your data directly to Paddle, and your transaction is subject to Paddle’s Privacy Policy.

On a successful purchase, we generate a license key and we store it next to your email address and the time of the purchase on our server.

We retain license records indefinitely to facilitate license activations and support interactions. To request removal of your license record, contact us at support@nota.md.

App Updates

The app periodically checks to see if a newer version is available. It sends update requests that contain app version and OS version. We use this information to guide you to the correct update version.

App Usage

We keep a log of update requests to get a sense of the general usage of the app.

We use this data to answer questions like:

• How many people used the app this month?
• How much time people spend in the app on average?
• How often people use the app on average?

We retain usage data for 24 months.

App Activation

Activation is the process by which the app verifies that you are a legitimately licensed owner of the app.

An activation request is performed when you enter a license key to activate the app and may be repeated from time to time by an already activated app.

The activation process consists of a single request sent to our server, containing the license key that you entered into the app. The server verifies whether the license key is valid, and replies with a confirmation if so. Otherwise, an error message is sent back for the app to display to you.

We retain activation information indefinitely. To request removal of your activation information, contact us at support@nota.md.

App Crash Logs

If the app crashes while you're using it, anonymized data about the crash will be collected to help us identify the cause of the crash and hopefully fix it in a future update. These "crash logs" contain information such as the state of the app, operating system, and device at the time of the crash, but not your private data.

Crash logs are hosted with https://sentry.io/.

We retain crash logs for 30 days.

Email List

We provide a newsletter for which you can subscribe with your email address at our website. If you subscribe, the email address you provide will be added to our email list. Our email list is low volume only a few messages per year is typical and is limited to product and feature announcements.

We do not sell or otherwise disclose any portion of our email list to third-parties, with the exception of the vendor that provides our mailing list services as necessary to distribute the emails.

If you join our email list, we retain your email address until you ask to be removed. Instructions on how to unsubscribe are contained in all messages sent to the email list.

Support Interactions

When handling support requests from you, we collect:

• your email address or Twitter handle, if you contact us via Twitter
• any information you provide voluntarily

This information is collected solely to help resolve your support inquiry. We retain support emails indefinitely in order to:

• have context from previous interactions which may help us answer your future questions more quickly
• identify broad trends in support requests, which may help us identify and solve problems with our app

If you would like to remove support emails you have sent, contact us at support@nota.md.

Rights of EU Citizens Under GDPR

Citizens of the EU may exercise their rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, such as the rights of access and erasure, by contacting us with their request. We recommend emailing the request to contact us.
